We have assembled a panel of editors and publishers who are all passionate about pitching. Led by international publishing guru, Scott Pack, this session is a survey of what publishers want. You’ll discover the differences between pitching to a magazine or journal and pitching your book-length work; what makes a successful pitch from the initial approach, to the material supplied; and what happens next. Each publisher will reveal practical advice and inside stories so that you come away armed and ready.
Panel members include: Melanie Laville-Moore (Allen & Unwin), Duncan Greive (The Spinoff), Kevin Chapman (Upstart Press), Harriet Allen (Penguin Random House), chaired by UK publisher Scott Pack
Duration: 90 mins
This session is complemented by the Make the Perfect Pitch competition. Find out more about how you can pitch to a publisher here.
