PROGRAMME
Overview
The National Writers Forum runs from September 21 – 23, 2018 and opens on the Friday evening, September 21 at 6.00-8.30pm, registration from 5.00pm. The programme kicks off at 6.00 pm with an official welcome ceremony and event. Then we will hear the annual Janet Frame Memorial Lecture given by our 2018 NZSA President of Honour, followed by wine and cheese.
Over the weekend of September 22-23 there are multiple sessions on at any one time and you can plan your days with sessions to suit. The full programme will be published at the end of May 2018 and there will be printed programmes available at the event.
This is the 2nd biennial National Writers Forum with double the number of sessions, panels, masterclasses, bus-stops and workshops that were scheduled in 2016, all designed to help you improve your craft, connect with other writers and gain a wider perspective of our world of words and the New Zealand literary landscape.
In the meantime you can check out the NWF Programme 2016
TIME
Friday 21 September
6:00 pm
The Janet Frame Memorial Lecture will be delivered by the 2018-9 NZSA President of Honour of the New Zealand Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc).
The annual President of Honour is announced at the NZSA AGM in May 2018. This event will mark the start of the 2018 National Writers Forum on the evening of Friday September 21 from 6.00pm at the Owen Glenn Business School at the University of Auckland, following the Official Welcome and Opening event.
The opening and Janet Frame Memorial Lecture will be followed by drinks and an opportunity for NZSA members and conference delegates to mingle.
The Janet Frame Memorial Lecture is an important and prestigious annual event for NZSA and it gives the President of Honour’s view on the New Zealand writing and publishing worlds: in fact, whimsy and opinion. This is the kick-off event to the 2018 National Writer’s Forum and the cornerstone of our opening ceremony.
