It’s often said that Einstein “worked outside the box”. But people tend not to notice that Einstein also knew what was in the box. As writers, we need to know what it is in the so-called rulebook, but we also need to know when and how to tear the rulebook up and throw it into an incinerator/mulcher/dishwasher or other destination of your choice. In this masterclass we’ll look at some of the conventions which can work well in writing, and some innovative approaches to language which can also succeed.
Masterclass facilitated by John Marsden.
